What to Expect on your First Visit

Parking:  We offer special spaces for visitors in the front row of the parking lot.  We also offer special parking for the handicapped, senior citizens, and families with small children.  We will have ushers in the parking lot before many of our services to help and assist people as they enter.

Entering the Church:  You will be greeted at the door by Pastor Matt and/or other church members.  All visitors receive a welcome pack.

Visitor Cards:  In the visitor pack that is handed to you will be a visitor card. This is simply a way for us to have record of your attendance and to thank you for attending the service.  We ask that you fill out the card and drop it in the wooden offering box at the rear of the sanctuary.

Children’s Ministry: (PreK - 5th grade):  Children remain in the sanctuary for the beginning of church.   At the end of the worship service they are dismissed to their classrooms.  We have classes for PreK – 2nd grade and a class for 3rd – 5th grade.

Parents can pick up their children at their classrooms immediately following service.  The classrooms are easily visible from the sanctuary.  Although we work very hard to make sure your child feels comfortable going to children’s church, sometimes the first few times coming they may seem reluctant.  Kids are welcome to sit with parents until they feel more comfortable going to children’s church.

Infants and Toddlers:  We have a room at the rear of the sanctuary for this age group.  You can check your child in before the service starts and they will be well-cared for.

Praise & Worship:  We start each Sunday morning service with praise and worship.  We mostly utilize contemporary songs but do include hymns from time to time.  We usually do 4 songs to start the service.

Greeting Time:  After praise and worship, the congregation takes a few minutes to share love and greetings with one another.

Formalities:  Pastor Matt will bring a general welcome to the congregation followed by our weekly confession:  God is good; His Word is true; and It works in your life!  There will be a prayer over the service and some general announcements.

Sermon:  Most Sundays everyone will receive a copy of the sermon outline when entering the church.  Pastor Matt will teach and/or preach the message of the day with the goal being to present God’s Word in a way everyone can understand It and apply It to their daily lives.  Most messages are taught over the course of 3-4 weeks in order to help everyone have a working knowledge of the subject.

Prayer & Ministry:  At the end of each service, prayer and ministry will be available toward the front of the church for anyone desiring to be ministered to.

Offering At Soul Harvest Church we take the offering in a non-traditional way.  A wooden box is set up toward the rear of the sanctuary and people can give at their discretion coming in or going out.  We do take a minute during the formalities to teach God’s Word concerning finances, but do not seek to pressure anyone or use manipulation tactics of any kind for the purpose of raising money.
